English School Accommodation
All junior students and many adult students who come to study with us at English Language Ireland are placed with friendly and welcoming host families during their stay here in Wexford
Our database of more than 300 host families has been carefully compiled over the past ten years by our Host Family Co-ordinator. All host families are pre-qualified against a very strict Code of Standards (including police clearance). This allows us to match the most appropriate families with students’ preferences, as far as possible.
For junior students, many host family parents will have children of the same age visiting students. Irish people are friendly and talkative and enjoy welcoming students into their homes and understand the benefits of a totally immersive experience. Many students make lifelong friends with their hosts.
During the Junior Summer Programmes, our Host Families are also integrated into the homework curriculum so that our students are encouraged to chat/interview the members of the family and talk about their lives, Irish traditions and culture.
It is our policy never to have two students of the same native language in any one Host Family unless that is specifically requested.
For adult students, staying with a host family can also provide a greater learning experience, as the student has the opportunity to speak English at all times when classes end.
Special requests with regard to host families can be met where possible, and lasting friendships are formed between students and their hosts.
Some adult students may prefer to instead stay in self-catering accommodation, a guesthouse, or a hotel.
